Indigenous Art and Wisdom Journal
Format: Paperback
Text Content Territories: Indigenous Canadian;

In this journal, Diana Frost invites you to discover the beauty of Indigenous artwork from various artists across Canada, and to learn traditional teachings from elder John Sinclair, while having the space to meditate, write and create, and knowing that you are supporting Indigenous community projects.

Write to your heart's desire on lined pages, draw artwork on the blank pages, and get inspired by the elder’s writings at the bottom of some pages.

There are also small colourable images of eagles, buffalo, wolves, feathers and more scattered throughout the journa,l as well as fourteen pieces of full colour artwork by artists from different nations, including Mi’gmaq, Métis, Blackfoot, Inuit, Cree, Saulteaux, Mohawk, and more. These journals were designed with love and healing energy. Colouring It Forward will make a donation from each journal sold to a healing program.

Colouring It Forward Series

During her time at CAWST, Diana became aware of the poor quality of water on some Canadian First Nations reserves. She was unable to do anything about it because of the political situation and a lack of connections. From that knowledge and desire to help, plus the yearning to learn more about her roots, the idea for this project was born. And so, out of all of this, the Colouring It Forward project began to grow. Along with her appreciation and love for the artists’ work, the colouring book series has given her a chance to learn more about First Nations people, culture and wisdom. She also has the opportunity to ‘colour it forward’ with these books by giving a percentage of the proceeds from the books to the artists, elders and community projects to generate jobs, support small businesses and encourage higher education on reserves.
