Patricia D. McGuire is Anishinaabe and was raised as Métis in MacDiarmid which is on Lake Nipigon. She is affiliated with Bingwi Neyaashi Anishinaabe, although she has relatives at Kiashke Zaaging Anishinaabe. Patricia currently lives in Thunder Bay. These are the community bases that she writes from.
