For thousands of years, the Coast Salish woolly dog was a spiritual companion, carefully bred and deeply revered by the people of the Pacific Northwest coast. Their thick, luxurious coats were meticulously shorn and spun together with mountain goat hair to create intricate, culturally significant textiles that told stories of connection, wisdom, and survival.

This woolly friend is wearing a blanket designed by internationally renowned Coast Salish weaver and Musqueam knowledge-keeper Debra Sparrow, whose highly sought-after weavings & designs are cultural undertakings centered on ancestral connection, stewardship, and the reawakening of Coast Salish traditions.
