Following Protocol

Strong Nations Publishing celebrates the diverse perspectives of Indigenous communities in every project. Protocols are unique to each Nation, and we tailor our editorial approach to follow Protocols as best as possible. For all publications, Strong Nations works closely with the author, illustrator, and all represented Nations to ensure:

  • Indigenous knowledge and perspectives are accurately and positively represented.
  • Indigenous language and translation guides are correct and support language revitalization.
  • Protocols are followed through all stages of editing, design, and publication.
  • All necessary permissions are gained prior to publication.
  • All contributors and consultants are credited and fairly compensated for their work.

Strong Nations - Indigenous & First Nations Gifts, Books, Publishing; & More! Our logo reflects the greater Nation we live within—Turtle Island (North America)—and the strength and core of the Pacific Northwest Coast peoples—the Cedar Tree, known as the Tree of Life. We are here to support the building of strong nations and help share Indigenous voices.
