This natural, freshly picked sage, juniper and sweetgrass has been harvested from the desert, the forest and the meadow to be dried and offered as a unique smudging blend. Sage is used to remove stagnant energy and cleanse negativity from people, objects and dwelling places. Juniper further helps to enhance this cleansing and the sweetgrass invites fresh, positive energy.
Simply light tip, blow out flame, and waft the smoke. Extinguish in sand.
This top-quality white sage is salvia apiana, also known as buffalo sage. Salvia is from the latin word salvare which means to heal. This natural, freshly picked white sage has long been used in smudging ceremonies.
Top-quality white sage is used for clearing, smudging, and cleansing. Place the sage bundle in the bottom of an abalone shell or other heat-resistant dish, it's also wise to add a little sand for insulation. Ignite the leaves, blow out flame and the sage will release a cloud of white, purifying smoke. When you're finished with the sage, cover it with sand and leave it in the container. When you want to use the bundle again, just shake the sand off. The smell of white sage brings a sense of peace and clarity, while clearing negativity from the room.
Additional Information
- Sage is harvested by selected Indigenous companies. These suppliers support their local communities and also respect their customs and traditions. This wild sage is harvested by individual pickers (there is no big cultivation nor farms involved). This ensures an ethical harvest that leaves enough plants to self-populate the following year.

Abalone shells make excellent vessels for containing smoldering herbs and incense. It is wise to insulate the bottom of the shell with a minimum of 2 inches of sand or ash to protect the shell against high temperatures. These shells are often used for traditional cleansing ceremonies. They are ideal for burning sweetgrass and sage or indirect burning incense such as resin.
Place a few dried sage pieces or sweet grass in the bottom of the shell with the sand, ignite then blow out flame and the sage or grass will release a cloud of white, purifying smoke.
