Cleansing is a universal practice used to center and focus ourselves and to cleanse people, objects and spaces.

The general guidelines are as follows:
Place the material in a heatproof vessel. After igniting the material, allow it to gently burn, then fan out the flame. Use the smoke from the smouldering material to first waft around yourself. Next, spread it around the person, object or space being cleansed. Fully extinguish the flame when finished.

  • Sage: This sage is harvested by selected Indigenous companies that employ people in their community. These suppliers support their local communities and also respect their customs and traditions. This wild sage is harvested by individual pickers (there is no big cultivation nor farms involved). This ensures an ethical harvest which leaves enough plants to self-populate the following year. 
  • Abalone Shell: This abalone shell is ethically harvested. Abalone shells pass stringent importing regulations and scrutiny by the office of Fish and Wildlife in the US and the Conservation and Protection Branch of Fisheries and Oceans in Canada. All documentation must meet the requirements of both these governing bodies. Suppliers who don’t follow the environmental regulations have their goods confiscated.
  • Feather: For ethical sustainability, Nature's Expressions believes in using all parts of an animal. The turkeys themselves are processed for meat products, and they purchase the feathers to ensure they are not wasted.
  • Cobra Stand: Much of the raw materials used in the products from this supplier are grown and cultivated in the local communities they are made in. This provides additional employment in those areas. All products are cruelty-free.
