Harry Okpik

Harry Okpik was born in the community of Quaqtaq in 1954. Harry owns a dog team and has participated in numerous Ivakkak dog sled races. He is widely recognized as one of the most dedicated and successful dog team owners in Nunavik. Harry has also acted as one of the longest-serving KRG (Kativik Regional Government) nature officers in Nunavik. In 2015, the documentary film Okpik’s Dream was released which documented Harry's life, racing experience, and passion for his dog team.
