Cheryl Isbister

Cheryl Isbister is a Metis author and educator from Red River Winnipeg, currently living in Victoria, BC. Isbister received a bachelor of Education from the University of Regina. She also holds a Masters of Educational Leadership. She is a teacher and vice-principal. She is a member of Metis Nation of British Columbia, as well as Metis Nation of Greater Victoria. She enjoys bringing in her interests and hobbies into her books, such as gardening, and beadwork. She has a deep connection with the land and loves to learn the names of places and plants, as well as their traditional food and medicinal uses. The most important themes in her work have to do with being kind to one another, protecting the land, water, and air. Things are always changing, but those things will remain important to us no matter what.
